CONFERENCE ON IT SECURITY

14.11. – 15.11.2024.

HOTEL HOLIDAY

The largest cybersecurity conference in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyber Security Summit 2024, concluded on November 15, 2024, at the Holiday Hotel in Sarajevo, leaving a strong impression on more than 350 participants. Over two days of intensive lectures, panel discussions, and workshops, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends, challenges, and solutions in the field of cybersecurity.

The conference brought together experts from the industry, representatives of institutions, companies, academia, students, and the international community—creating a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

At the conclusion of the two-day event, a set of key conclusions was adopted to guide the future work of the Association in the field of cybersecurity. These conclusions will also be submitted to relevant decision-makers with the aim of improving the current state of cybersecurity in the country.

  • Strengthen cooperation between the private sector, institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the non-governmental sector, and international organizations in the field of cybersecurity. Maintain and enhance ongoing communication and collaboration among all parties. Utilize existing connections and expand the network across all these entities to enable more concrete actions in developing cybersecurity capacities.
  • Further reinforce the cybersecurity community gathered around the Cyber Security Summit.
  • Support educational institutions in establishing specialized cybersecurity programs.
  • Continuously raise awareness and knowledge among small and medium-sized enterprises about cybersecurity through campaigns, structured training, and appropriate certification.
  • Support the establishment and capacity-building of CSIRT teams for companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We call on the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to:

  • Develop and implement a national cybersecurity strategy as soon as possible.
  • Proactively begin working on legislation to regulate the use of digital technologies and cybersecurity.
  • Establish the missing CERTs and provide adequate support for the development of existing ones. Ensure that CERTs in Bosnia and Herzegovina are properly networked and connected with regional and global CERTs.
  • Provide a special status for cybersecurity professionals employed in public institutions in terms of salaries and benefits, to retain existing talent and attract new, much-needed experts.
